If my host runs BOINC at 12 hours a day and I request a 2 day cache, does BOINC maintain 24 hours of cache or 48 hours of cache? In other words, does the recent BOINC running time affect the requested cache size?

Thanks,
Jim

Boinc keep track of the amount of time it is allowed to use the CPU and adjust the work request accordingly. So if it crunched 12 hrs a day it should get enough work to keep busy. A 2 day cache will be approx. 24 hrs of work for each CPUs on the system from each project attached to Boinc. It also adjust for your computer efficiency against the project estimated run time.

In your project account computer details you will see a set of numbers that Boinc uses to adjust cached work for the computer

example from my system that is on 24/7
% of time BOINC client is running 99.7669 %
While BOINC running, % of time host has an Internet connection 98.3515 %
While BOINC running, % of time work is allowed 99.9979 %
Task duration correction factor 0.926084

Boinc V 7.4.36
Win7 i5 3.33G 4GB NVidia 470

Ahhhh...so in this example, if I had two projects attached, each project would get 24 hours or is the 24 hours, again in this scenario, spread over all of the attached projects?
