Hello,

I looked in similar threads but saw no reference to this aspect of the difference between BOINC 5.2.X and the one I was previously using (4.4.X).

Is there any plan to reinstate this useful tool for minimizing the BOINC Manager in future versions?

Someone decided it was redundant. Because BOINC Manager is just the GUI, and isn't doing any of the work, that is being done by the boinc.exe "daemon", you can just hit the big red "x" in the upper-right corner, and it does exactly the same thing the old "hide" command did...
