Over the past week both my main crunchers have crashed.

This is a problem as I am not on site and cannot get to them for at least another week.

I managed to arrange a reboot for the first one to go, it booted ok and ran for long enough to download a bunch of Rosetta tasks before crashing again.

My first thought when both machines showed the same symptoms was a rogue Boinc WU (possibly one of WCG’s OPNG tasks) causing the crash but then an alternative possibility occurred to me - could it be related to the bloody great wasps nest they’ve now found in my computer room with wasps flying everywhere?

When the pest control people have done their job my son in law will take another look inside the boxes then try rebooting again.

Managed to get a wasp inside my helmet on the bike once but it took a dislike to me and left.

Confirmed. When the cooler spell started the wasps sought out the warmth of the CPU and started to block the heatsinks. Strip and clean when I get back.

Glad you are getting it resolved. I will collect bees from such situations but not wasps.
