Can anyone tell me whether there is a way to put the "slots" folder only onto a different drive (e.g. Ramdisk)? ID: 112575 ·

However I found this that may be useful. In Linux, I would have the drive mounted as /var/lib/boinc-client/slots which would make it appear as a subdirectory of the boinc-client directory. No. The slots directory is part of the data directory, either move all of it, or nothing. The client looks for the slots directory inside the data directory, and if there's none yet, it makes one there. There's no way to instruct the client to put the slots directory outside the data directory in another place, without rewriting the client. ID: 112577 ·

That way the data can be sent to another drive/partition/folder, e.g. tmpfs or zram on Linux or a ramdisk on Windows. It is a different question whether this is useful or not. ID: 112578 ·
