Hello, I do not get any VM Task from e.g. lhcdev and don't see why. VirtualBox is properly detected. Is there some config entry to allow/forbid VM tasks? Here the startup log: 03.10.2017 12:29:39 | | Starting BOINC client version 7.8.2 for windows_x86_64 03.10.2017 12:29:39 | | log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task 03.10.2017 12:29:39 | | Libraries: libcurl/7.47.1 OpenSSL/1.0.2g zlib/1.2.8 03.10.2017 12:29:39 | | Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC 03.10.2017 12:29:39 | | Running under account dems5uv8 03.10.2017 12:29:39 | | OpenCL: Intel GPU 0: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 (driver version 10.18.10.4276, device version OpenCL 1.2, 1400MB, 1400MB available, 154 GFLOPS peak) 03.10.2017 12:29:39 | | OpenCL CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3320M CPU @ 2.60GHz (OpenCL driver vendor: Intel(R) Corporation, driver version 3.0.1.10891, device version OpenCL 1.2 (Build 76427)) 03.10.2017 12:29:39 | | Host name: M-CNU3019VX7 03.10.2017 12:29:39 | | Processor: 4 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3320M CPU @ 2.60GHz [Family 6 Model 58 Stepping 9] 03.10.2017 12:29:39 | | Processor features: fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss htt tm pni ssse3 cx16 sse4_1 sse4_2 popcnt aes f16c rdrandsyscall nx lm avx vmx smx tm2 pbe fsgsbase smep 03.10.2017 12:29:39 | | OS: Microsoft Windows 8.1: Enterprise x64 Edition, (06.03.9600.00) 03.10.2017 12:29:39 | | Memory: 15.88 GB physical, 18.26 GB virtual 03.10.2017 12:29:39 | | Disk: 297.75 GB total, 221.05 GB free 03.10.2017 12:29:39 | | Local time is UTC +2 hours 03.10.2017 12:29:39 | | VirtualBox version: 5.1.28 03.10.2017 12:29:39 | http://denis.usj.es/denisathome/ | URL http://denis.usj.es/denisathome/; No, that's the message from DENIS. His messages for that project are: 03.10.2017 12:30:09 | lhcathome-dev | update requested by user Why that that is, I don't know. Might be a REC thing, where other projects have more priority to get new work. Or perhaps the project is out of work, but that's best asked at the project. |

You can get the 'priority' messages by enabling the <code>cpu_sched_debug</code> or <code>sched_op_debug</code> flags. I forget which exactly. sched_op_debug will at least show how much work is asked and for which resource. |

Just a quick sanity check... 1) Can I check this without going into the BIOS? I lost the BIOS password. But this might be a good reason. 2) is not set. Germany biggest distributed computing community Rechenkraft.net |

https://help.getpassages.com/customer/portal/articles/1902554 shows how to check that in VirtualBox itself. |

Ok, thanks. Taskmanager shows Virtualization: Disabled :( So I have to find out how to get into the Bios. Would be good if BOINC could tell a bit more in the message box about it. Germany biggest distributed computing community Rechenkraft.net |

I didn't set the bios password. It is an old laptop from my company, so I have to ask there. Not even one VM task was downloaded. I assumer that BOINC checks if virtualisation is enabled or not and either do not send VBox capabilities to the server or sends to the server that virtualisation is disabled. In both cases the server doesn't send any VM task. Germany biggest distributed computing community Rechenkraft.net |

After enabling the flag in Bios, do have to do something additional to let Boinc fetch VM tasks? Germany biggest distributed computing community Rechenkraft.net |

VT-x is enabled in bios now, also shown in taskmanager and CPU-z, but I still do not get VM tasks. And from https://sourcefinder.theskynet.org/duchamp/ project I get 04.10.2017 16:42:04 | duchamp | Nachricht vom Server: VirtualBox jobs require hardware acceleration support. Your processor does not support the required instruction set. Germany biggest distributed computing community Rechenkraft.net |

Yes it is not in cc_config.xml. BUT it is in sched_request_sourcefinder....xml ? Germany biggest distributed computing community Rechenkraft.net |

Working now !!!! I found <p_vm_extensions_disabled>1</p_vm_extensions_disabled> in client_state.xml. So Boinc shoutdown and removal of this line and Boinc restart. Now VM's are downloaded. Germany biggest distributed computing community Rechenkraft.net |

Entries in client_state.xml are from BOINC itself. So question is if and when BOINC rechecks it. Germany biggest distributed computing community Rechenkraft.net |
