On logging in, I always receive a system notification:

BOINCMANAGER
BOINC Manager Notices
There are new notices. Click to view.

However, when I click the notice, there are (usually) no notices in the BOINC Manager Notices window.

7.6.34 was to fix problems with notices on OSX. Try upgrading your BOINC client.
